Lap Zero Emotions.
This is a photo of my friend John (right, No. 38) riding a heavily modified Derbi moped launching out of the pits for his warm up lap before the race. Other riders in the background are lined up to go out on track as well. The goal for this composition was to capture multiple rider's emotions immediately before the race.
I cropped and rotated the photo, increased the contrast, and added texture and dehaze. The goal was to darken the background, only showing the three riders, their bikes, and their faces. I also added vignetting. I did not used a tripod. I used aperture priority, f/9 to maintain a decent depth of field, and ISO 640 to keep the shutter speed high enough to freeze the action while keeping the noise to a minimum. I also used noise reduction in Lightroom.
