Michael Mine: The old wheelcase

The structure in which the waterwheel of the Michael Mine would have sat.

The wheel was the Hariet and Eliza wheel, installed in November 1870.

 

The Michael Mine was in operation from the 1860s to the 1880s, though without making profit.

It is located high up in the valley between Slieau Dhoo and Slieau Freoaghane.
