North Barrule, Maughold

North Barrule, from the south-west, from the ridge connecting the hill to Clagh Ouyr.

 

The view is effectively along the parish boundary, with Lezayre on the left and Maughold on the right.

 

There have been many aeroplane crashes on North Barrule, the most well-known of which dates to only weeks before the conclusion of World War 2 in Europe:

This hill is also associated with a lot of folklore, including King Orry, the glashan, giants, and dancing around the Oie Voaldyn fires.
