Gateway to the Lhergy farm

This photo shows the gateway to The Lhergy Farm (now part of Ballashamrock) and the river before the bridges were built. In winter, you walked over the river on a plank, in summer the water was usually shallow enough to walk across. Ann Pickering thinks this photo may be as late as the 1930's as she remembers crossing the river on a plank herself.
