Rushes for Manannan on South Barrule

Rushes left for Manannan at the top of South Barrule on old Midsummer's Eve in the Isle of Man.

This was the ancient rent paid by all Manx people for living on the Isle of Man, made to the old Celtic God of the Island, Manannan. The tradition of taking rushes up South Barrule continues today.
