BN GP50 #3112 - S of Fountain City WI - May 25, 1989
In May of 1989 a Burlington Northern manifest freight is seen passing Lock and Dam 5A south of Fountain City, WI on its way to the Twin Cities. The power is a GP50 / B30-7AB combo. When the GP50 was delivered to the BN in 1985 its nose was in the high visibility orange and black stripe scheme, nick named the Tiger Stripe scheme. Evidently it was not visible enough as the BN has changed the stripes on the #3112 to orange and white making the unit unique. The experimental scheme was not adopted for the fleet.
