Their plan featured geometric motifs and was centred on axes aligned with topographical landmarks such as Black Mountain, (shown in the photograph) Its mountainous location makes it the only mainland Australian city where snow-capped mountains can be seen in winter, With significant areas of natural vegetation, along with introduced species, Canberra lives up to its reputation as "The Bush Capital"
