Black-billed Gull

The Black-billed Gull at one time was the most endangered (not the rarest) gull in the world. The species is endemic to New Zealand, which means they are not found anywhere else. Researchers discovered a greater number of nesting sites than previously known about. The species in no longer the most endangered, but their population is still quite low.
