Hen and Chicken Fern

At the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary in Nelson, Rebecca showed me some Hen and Chicken Ferns. These ferns are unusual in that rather than reproducing by sending out spores like most ferns, they produce small plants on top of their fronds and let them drop to the ground and take root.
