Tui

This singing Tui is displaying his pois, or the curled white feathers on the breast. The word "poi" in Maori culture means "ball on a cord", and the Maoris use them for dance performances and to improve strength and coordination. Tui have a broad range of vocalizations, and they are capable of mimicking other bird species.
