Hector's Dolphin

Hector's Dolphins are the world's smallest dolphin species -- they are only 4 or 5 feet long. They are also the rarest saltwater dolphin -- some freshwater dolphin species are rarer. This dolphin was one of numerous who were near our boat on the pelagic trip I did out of Akaroa.
