Black-fronted Tern

Black-fronted Terns are an endangered endemic species to New Zealand. I did not see many during my trip. This bird was nesting on the shingle beach in the Mackenzie Valley where I saw the Wrybill. They have greyish plumage which blends in with the grey stones.
