Gorse

In a great many areas, I saw Gorse which had spread all over the place. The yellow flowers in this photo are the Gorse which had taken over this hillside in Akaroa. People in Hinewai are using gorse to try to regenerate native forests, but this requires a lot of vigilance and only works where there are no hoofed animals.
