Saint Moses

I went inside only one church in Venice, and it was an odd one. San Moise is a Baroque Catholic church named after the Hebrew prophet Moses. Behind the San Moise altar is a painting featuring Moses on Mount Sinai wrestling with the large Ten Commandment tablets. It is one of several Catholic churches in Venice dedicated to Jewish figures from the Old Testament, similar to the way Islam reveres the Hebrew prophet Abraham.
