Rue Alibert
Rue Alibert and Rue Bichat, which intersect, were the sites of the first shootings on November 13, 2015, the same night when gunmen opened fire at the Bataclan. The shooting started at Le Carillon, a cafe and bar on Rue Alibert. Fifteen people were killed on the two streets, and ten others were critically wounded. The sign in the window expresses sincere condolences to those who lost loved ones and to the regulars who have been coming to Le Carillon for the previous 40 years. The painting in the window to the right of the sign says that the rosy view of life is finished.
