Viareggio, Italy, has a large stone face of the sea god Oceanus. It is called the Bocca della Verita, or mouth of truth. If you stick your hand into the mouth, it will indicate whether you are honest. A more famous mouth of truth is in Rome. Legends abound about terrible things that happen to the hands of dishonest people.
