A statue in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence shows Hercules subduing a fire-breathing giant named Cacus. Before being subdued by Hercules, Cacus used to eat people and nail their heads to the entrance to his cave. The statue features a lot of symbolism connected to the power of the Medici family.
