Doge's Palace

The Palazzo Ducale is one of the most important landmarks in Venice. It served as the seat of government in Venice for centuries. The Gothic building was built in the mid-1300s and was the home of the Doge, who ruled Venice. It also housed much of Venice's bureaucracy and law apparatus. Since 1923, it has been a museum.
