Northern Jacana
The lake at CATIE in Turialba had a lot of Northern Jacanas. Jacanas have long toes which allow them to walk on lily pads. If you look on the wing, you can see a nasty yellow spur that is sometimes used as a weapon during aggressive encounters. Some species of plovers have similar spurs on their wings.
