Talamanca Hummingbird
Talamanca (formerly Magnificent) Hummingbirds were the most common species at the hummingbird feeders at Quetzal's Paradise in the highlands. They are large, and the violet cap and blue-green throat are distinctive. Their wings appeared to be moving more slowly than some of the other hummingbirds. Their normal range edges into the Southeastern United States, and they sometimes are found even farther north. Before they were split, they were called the Rivoli's Hummingbird, named in honor of the Duke of Rivoli.
