Collared Aracari
Aracaris are in the same family as toucans. They sometimes travel in groups. This Collared Aracari was on the roof of my cabin at Rancho Naturalista. Dr. Alexander Skutch named his Costa Rican home Los Cusingos after a related species called the Fiery-billed Aracari. He later regretted the decision, because part of the diet of Aracaris is the eggs and nestlings of other bird species.
