Summer Tanager
Summer Tanagers are in the same family as the Northern Cardinal and are not related to most of the Central American tanagers. Young males are yellow-olive, while adults males are red. This first-year male is in-between, with patches of red on his yellow-olive feathering. I think these splotchy birds are more attractive than the lovely red adult males.
