Golden-winged Warbler
The license plate on my car in Virginia says WARBLER, and warblers are one of my favorite families of birds. During the trip, I saw 23 species of warblers, including 16 who migrate to North America. I was especially pleased to see Golden-winged Warblers, including this one who was in a tree over the feeders at Rancho Naturalista. This species has become extremely uncommon in Northern Virginia, and I have not seen one there in years.
