Golden Tanager
Some of the most beautiful tanagers are in the genus Tangara, which is the word for tanager in the Guarani language of Paraguay. This Golden Tanager was hopping in the trees at Wildsumacho. The tanagers seen in North America are in a different family than the Tangara tanagers; they are related to the cardinals and grosbeaks.
