Red-necked Grebe

Henrys Lake in Idaho is about a half an hour from the northwest entrance to Yellowstone National Park. On the lake was this breeding plumage Red-necked Grebe. Red-necked Grebes are an irruptive species where I live in Virginia. Most winters, we do not see any, but other winters, we may see a significant number. During 2014, which was an irruptive year, I made a video about Red-necked Grebes which is on my YouTube channel, but none were in breeding plumage. The video can be seen at:
