Common Eider

Common Eiders are common sea ducks in Iceland. The French name for the Common Eider is Eider à duvet, which, roughly translated, means “eider with the down.” The duvets on beds originally were soft quilts stuffed with eiderdown, but most now are stuffed with synthetic fibers. This Common Eider was on the coast near the Keflavík Airport.
