Bicolored Hawk

The Bicolored Hawk is in the genus Accipiter and is a tad smaller than a Cooper's Hawk. We were surprised on the final day of my trip to see this one land on a nearby branch with what appeared to be a baby chicken in its talons. The brown leggings and yellow ring of skin around the eye are good fieldmarks.
