Verreaux's Eagle-Owl

Verreaux’s Eagle-Owls are the largest owls in Africa. They are in the same genus as the Snowy and Great Horned Owls, and they are larger than both. If you look closely, you can see the pink eyelids. This one was part of a pair perched in a baobab tree at our Naitola campsite.
