African Skimmer

Skimmers are the only birds in the world whose lower mandible is longer than its upper mandible. They skim along the water with their lower mandible below the surface, hoping it will come into contact with a small fish or other edible morsel. I saw this one during a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel.
