Eurasian Oystercther

On our final full day in Iceland, we took a detour from the Ring Road and headed toward the Westfjords, a rugged and beautiful section in the northwest corner of the country. To properly see the Westfjords might take a couple of days. We had time to drive through only a small part of the eastern section along the coast. The coastline has a lot of what Douglas Adams called “crinkly bits,” and we took the road that hugs all of these crinkly bits. It is a good spot in Iceland to find birds, including Eurasian Oystercatchers. This oystercatcher seemed to be an outcast who got into loud confrontations with the others.
