African Elephant, Oribis, & Piapiacs

These Piapiacs at Murchison Falls National Park are in the Corvid family and sometimes are called social crows. They ride on the backs of elephants and other mammals. Oxpeckers eat ticks and other vermin from the bodies of mammals when they hitch a ride, but the Piapiacs ride with the hope that the mammal's feet will disturb insects. The Piapiacs then swoop down and eat the insects. The small delicate looking antelopes on the left are Oribis.
