Gray Crowned Cranes
The Gray Crowned Crane is the national bird of Uganda, and we saw quite a few of them. On the Nile cruise, we found a group of more than sixty. Some were dancing and displaying. Because of their beautiful attire, their dancing looks more special than the dancing of Sandhill Cranes in the US. They have big white patches on their wings, which can be seen when they fly or extend their wings. The crown on their head looks like wheat growing.
