This is an Ex-Pigeon
This is Martha, the last known Passenger Pigeon. She is now at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington. When she died at the Cincinnati Zoo in 1914, the species was considered extinct. Less than a century before, Passenger Pigeons were thought to number in the billions, but market hunting and habitat loss quickly drove them to extinction.
