Pisa Pizza

Pizza is a popular dish in Pisa. The words are pronounced differently -- peet-sah vs pee-zah -- as is the word "piazza," which adds an extra syllable in the middle. Some of the pizza in the tourist areas was basically flat bread with tomato, cheese, and one or more toppings thrown on. But some restaurants created more imaginative (and tastier) pizzas.
