Edith Piaf

Edith Piaf was a famous French singer who died in 1963 and is buried in Père Lachaise Cemetery. Her last name at birth was Gassion, and she acquired the name Piaf at the beginning of her singing career. She was small and thin, and her stage name La Môme Piaf meant "the little sparrow". She died of liver cancer in 1963 at age 47.
