Bologna Towers

Bologna is a very old city. It has ancient Roman walls as well as medieval towers. Many of these brick towers were erected as a sign of wealth and prestige, and they sometimes were used as prisons. Some towers lean because of the loose soil beneath them, but they do not lean as much as the tower in Pisa.
