Slaty-tailed Trogon
The Slaty-tailed Trogon is one of the large trogons. The male is green and red, while the female is gray and red. They are the only trogons in Panama with a red bill, or as a non-birding friend described it, they look like they are wearing lipstick. One day at Chan Chich, we saw a group of about eight displaying males who were trying to attract a female -- I saw three males in the same binocular field. Here is one of them.
