Ruddy Turnstone
This Ruddy Turnstone in breeding plumage was on the island of San Cristobal in the Galapagos. The species is extremely widespread. I have seen them in Africa, Australia, and within driving distance of where I live in Virginia. They get their name because they sometimes turn over stones when searching for food on a beach.
