Striated Caracara

On Saunders Island in the Falkland Islands, Striated Caracaras were both on the beach and perched on the grassy hills next to the beach. We also saw them in the Southern Rockhopper Penguin nesting area, and one appeared to be eating the remains of a chick. The adults appeared to be a little smaller than a Southern Caracara. They were not bothered by a close approach by people. They have a light bill with bare skin at the base.
