Marabou Storks and Rüppell’s Griffon Vultures at a Zebra Kill
Marabou Storks sometimes soar like vultures, and they eat carrion like vultures. We saw Marabous at Ndutu National Park eating the remains of a zebra with some vultures. The Rüppell’s Griffon Vultures at the kill are very large, but the Marabous look much larger, and with their long legs, tower over the vultures. A young zebra was standing about 50 yards away, probably wondering what had happened to its mother.
