Nazca Booby
Nazca Boobies were formally considered a subspecies of the Masked Booby before being split. The Nazca name comes from one of the tectonic plates on which the Galapagos Islands rest. They are the largest of the three boobies on the Galapagos. They sometimes vibrate their throats to try to keep cool. Nazca Boobies are white through all stages of their life cycle, which allows them to better deal with heat. This one was on Genovesa.
