Carunculated Caracara
I saw about a hundred Carunculated Caracara the day we went to a high altitude area in the Andes. They peck at the ground in search of insects, and they also will eat carrion. Their face has wattled yellow skin, which is responsible for the bird's name. The young are brown. Caracaras are related to the falcons, and they are not in the same family as hawks and eagles.
