Variable Sunbird
Sunbirds occupy a similar ecological niche in the Old World to hummingbirds in the New World. They have colorful iridescent feathers, and they eat nectar from flowers. A lot of Variable Sunbirds were in the gardens at the Karibu Heritage House in Arusha. In good light, they have an iridescent green head, a clean purple band across the breast, and a bright yellow belly.
