Rock Pigeon

A lot of people think of Rock Pigeons as rats with wings. But if you look closely at their plumage, they are quite attractive birds. I took this photo at the National Zoo for a presentation I planned to give about my Fascination of Birds book, which had been published by Dover a few months earlier.
