Thomson's Gazelle
Thomson's Gazelles, or Tommies, were the second most common mammal species we saw, after the Wildebeest. In Serengeti National Park, we saw an estimated 50,000. This is a female at Ngorongoro Crater. The males have longer horns. Tommies have thick legs for their bodies and a low center of gravity while running.
