Galapagos Sea Lions

This Galapagos Sea Lion pup appeared to be taking a nap at Suarez Point on Hispaniola. The young live on milk only for the first six months, and the mother nurses them for a year. I saw one young sea lion going up to several females, looking for milk, but a female will feed only her own offspring. Some people on our boat went snorkeling, and some baby sea lions were swimming with them, probably out of curiosity.
