Mouse-colored Antshrike
The antbirds get their name because they follow army ant swarms and wait to catch prey that is flushed by the approaching ants. They do not eat ants. There are antbirds, antvireos, and antwrens. Antshrikes tend to have larger bills than the others. This male Mouse-colored Antshrike was on the Tiputini Trail on an island near the Napo Wildlife Center. The females are brown.
