Mitis (Blue) Monkey
One of my favorite primates was the Mitis Monkey, who is also known as a Blue Monkey, Sykes's Monkey, and Gentle Monkey. It is medium-sized with a long thin tail. It has orange eyes and a single arcing grey brow going from ear to ear. The grizzled fur on its cheeks gives the expressive face an hourglass shape, and the single eyebrow makes the monkey look wary and skeptical. At Lake Manyara, this Mitis Monkey had its left paw over its mouth as if it had just said something it realized it should not have. I use this photo on the cover of my file of Tanzania photos.
