RWBY OC #9- Skylar Celeste

Team- IRRS

 

Weapon- Allium, an Axe infused with gravity dust to make it near weightless, which doubles as a high impact rifle. There is a long piece of red ribbon attached to the end purely for aesthetic purposes, due to her semblance and her performer personality.

 

Semblance- Localised Gravity manipulation, Skylar can manipulate the force and direction of gravity around her, allowing her to leap high, slow her falls or, though she hasn't yet mastered it, essentially fly.

 

Origin- Skylar was born into the azure-Byzantine circus, to a family of acrobats, and gained a strong affinity for performing to an audience. Upon discovering her semblance, Skylar immediately incorporated it into her performance, achieving fantastic feats that caused the circuses popularity to skyrocket.

 

Though initially indifferent to the work of Huntsman and Huntresses, preferring her work as an acrobat, this all changed when the white Fang led a coordinated attack on the circus, during which Celeste helped to get innocent civilians away from the scene. As it turned out, the circus had been illegally using Faunus labour, even keeping some secretly as freak shows. Disgusted at the circus' actions, Skylar realised that she had wanted to do more after helping to protect the innocent, and decided to leave the circus to become a Huntress.

 

Due to an initial lack of experience, Skylar only just managed to make it into Shade Academy, having been rejected from Atlas and Vale previously. During initial training, Skylar found herself partnered with Ridian Thorn. Thorn, a man on a mission, was quite annoyed by Celeste's lack of experience and coordination, even trying to shake her off. However, when the two accidentally came across a Sapiavorn (a humanoid genus of Grimm based on the Wendigo), they find themselves forced to work together to hold off the ravenous Grimm. Celeste, in order to save Thorn's life, led the Grimm away from him, sacrificing herself by running them off a cliff. Luckily, Celeste landed on the back of a Megalapagos Grimm, fought by Iris Reichenbach and Robin Redcrest, and in the end the Grimm destroyed each other. Their teamwork and ingenuity led to the four being assembled together as Team IRRS. Thorn, taken aback by Celeste's attempted sacrifice, decided to take her under his wing, training her in combat and forming a sibling like relationship.

 

Skylar is loosely based upon the character of Dumbo, mainly in her circus origins and ability to fly (I considered making her a Faunus, but ant design I came up with looked silly).
