Highballin' Hotshot Pig
It seemed like an odd day to head out to photograph a train given what had happened only about three hours earlier, but photography has become a release for me from other stresses and I needed that today more than just about any other day. So, before I headed to Clemson to talk with my oldest son about the day's events, I took a few minutes and caught NS 203 highballing by a waiting NS 118 at Magnolia in Spartanburg, SC with a nice sunrise sky in the background. I guess the photo will always mean something special to me because of the day on which it was taken. And because I remember a morning many, many years ago that mom and dad took a young 5 year old to the nearby Krispy Kreme and then to that same depot at 3:00 a.m. (yes) to see a special train come through..
